Method of making an acrylic fish tank.

The acrylic fish tank is a common thing in our lives, but do you know how to make the acrylic fish tank? The following is to popularize the production method of the acrylic fish tank. Hope it will be helpful for everyone to make an acrylic fish tank.

In view of the fact that acrylic is not as good as glass in terms of steel, so acrylic fish tank is different from a glass fish tank in the bonding process.

I. It is important to have a detailed understanding of the size of the tank before making an acrylic tank. Nowadays most fish can grow to 20 to 30 cm, so at least 100 cm × 50 cm × 50 cm (length * width * height) is required when determining the size of the fish tank to gibe fish a good growth space.

II. The thickness of the tank should be determined according to the size of the tank when making an acrylic tank. For example, a 1-meter fish tank needs to be made with 6 mm acrylic.

III. The glue for making an acrylic fish tank is best to use glass glue, and it must be of very good quality. In addition to glass glue, a glass gun is also an indispensable tool.

IV. After things are ready, you need to find a quiet space first, and then find an acrylic fish tank to make a table, which shall be larger than the length and width of the tank. Next, clean the acrylic that makes the tank and removes oil and dust, which is very important for improving the fastness of the glue.

Next is the production method of the acrylic fish tank:

I. Break grinding method

The manufacturing method of the acrylic fish tank is that the acrylic template and the acrylic plate are overlapped and pasted, and then the cross-section after pasting is worn and molded, but this method is rarely chosen. Although the effect of the production process of this broken grinding method is very good and the color looks more simple and natural, it is very time-consuming and labor-intensive. However, the acrylic fish tank made by this method has a strong sensory effect in general.

II. Docking method

Place the two acrylic sheets that need to be butted on the operating table for closure, stick a bit of dual adhesive tape on both sides at the bottom of the gap of the two acrylic sheets in advance until both sides are sealed, and leave a gap of no more than 0.4mm wide for acrylic glue application. Use a syringe to slowly and evenly inject acrylic glue into the seam from one side until it is fully filled, and finished the work by removing the tape after it is completely dry.

III. Facade bonding method

Facade bonding is one of the most widely used binding methods for acrylic fish tanks, and it is widely used in the production of various acrylic products.

First, wipe the acrylic surface that needs to be glued. It can be wiped with pure water, but it is best not to wipe with solvents such as alcohol, otherwise, it will easily cause stress cracks. For acrylics with a thickness of less than 5 mm, the adhesive can be injected with the acrylic glue uniformly and slowly by a syringe directly from one side. As a result of the capillary action, the glue flows over the whole surface to adhere, and then the acrylic fish tank bonding can be completed.

For acrylic adhesive with a thickness of more than 5 mm, place a board horizontally and apply glue to the part to be bonded, then put another board into the first corner and erect it to complete the bonding.
