How to make fish grow fast

Bait (feed) is an important factor that determines the growth rate of fish, the level of output, and the benefit. How to achieve "high yield and low consumption" is the current focus of the fish farming industry. In other words, the benefit of fish farming is the most important factor for bait (feed), because the cost of bait (feed) feed accounts for about 60% of all fish farming costs.

Protein is a nutrient necessary for the growth and maintenance of fish. Different fish have certain requirements on the protein content of the feed. The too high or too low protein content of the feed is harmful to fish. When the feed protein content is too low, the fish grows slowly, and the feed conversion rate decreases. However, when the protein content of the feed is too high, it will also cause fish nutrition imbalance, slow growth, and reduced survival rate.

We usually say that "the protein content of the feed" is not completely scientific. The "moderate" protein content does not mean that this feed is good. Don’t just look at the "protein" but the "amino acid", because to increase the protein content, you can add "triamine" (that is, protein concentrate, which has been banned). But it cannot be said that this feed is good. In fact, we mainly look at the absorption and conversion rate of the feed as the core element to determine whether the feed is high quality, which involves the problem of amino acids. After the feed protein is ingested by the fish body, it must be decomposed into amino acids in the digestive tract of the fish under the action of various digestive enzymes before it can be absorbed and utilized by the fish body. In other words, the composition of amino acids is the standard that determines the quality of protein.

Carnivorous fish requires a high feed protein content, generally above 40%, omnivorous fish requires lower, generally 30%-40%, and herbivorous fish requires a minimum of 30%. At the same time, the level of protein required is closely related to the age of the fish. The larvae and juveniles have higher requirements for protein due to strong growth, while the adult growth is relatively slower, which requires lower protein.

The content of crude fiber in general fish feed should be particularly limited to a certain range, not too high. For herbivorous grass carp and tuna bream, the crude fiber content in the feed can reach 17%, but for omnivorous carp, it should not exceed 12%, and carnivorous fish should not exceed 8%.

The phytoplankton in the water is the original producer in the natural water body. It absorbs nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the water and carbon dioxide, and uses light energy for photosynthesis to reproduce in large quantities. It has become the most basic and favorite food for fish in the water.
