How to clean an acrylic fish tank to avoid scratching?

How to clean a fish tank made of acrylic materials? Many fish farmers will be troubled by this problem. For cleaning fish tanks, generally speaking, it can be cleaned directly if it is a fish tank without fish. But if there are fish, you need to prepare your own spare fish tank and prepare new water in advance, and remove the fish to the spare tank before cleaning.

Acrylic sheets have various kinds and colors (including translucent palettes), and another feature of the acrylic fish tank is that the thick plate can still maintain high transparency.

The processed acrylic fish tank is a high-grade aquatic product with light transmittance above 92% and has the reputation of "plastic crystal". However, there are a few places that need to pay attention to cleaning acrylic fish tanks. So here are a few highlights for you below and you must read them carefully.

First, pay attention to whether there are scratches on the surface of the acrylic fish tank. Or whether there are circular nodule vortexes, surface shrinkage marks (especially at corners), cracks, patches, mildew, alkali marks, watermarks, and bubbles, and foreign impurities in the sheet. The four sides of an acrylic fish tank are glued with silica gel, and the safety of the glued joint depends on whether the thickness of the glue is uniform and whether there are bubbles in the glue.

The cleaning and maintenance steps of acrylic tanks are as follows:

I. Washing

General dust can be dusted with a chicken feather duster or water, and then wiped with a soft cloth. It's better to add water with a soft detergent and scrub with a soft cloth for surface oil.

II. Waxing

Use liquid polishing wax and wipe evenly with a soft cloth to make the product shine.

III. Sticking

Use IPS bonding glue/binder like dichloromethane or quick-drying agent if the tank is damaged accidentally.

IV. Polishing

If the product is scratched or the surface wear is not very serious, try to use the polishing machine to install the cloth wheel, dip an appropriate amount of liquid polishing wax, and polish evenly.
